This file is the site as one document. The site itself is one page: an entry screen, a five-word menu, and five rooms (About, Contact, Recent projects, Skateboarding, Inspirations), plus Lines, a skateboarding game at /skate. There is no public API, no feed, and no newsletter.

## About

I design and build digital products and have fun fabricating with wood, steel, concrete, and plastic. I also enjoy pushing around on a skateboard.

At present, I’m working as the founding creative director at Finley, an AI product startup that helps operators in the middle market, who run a third of the US economy, make more strategic decisions.

Before Finley I co-founded Clerestory Group, a design cooperative of three partners, in 2020, and worked as an embedded creative director for early-stage AI companies. Before that, I was global creative director at nCino (NASDAQ: NCNO), where I led their global brand studio. Before nCino, I worked with biotech and venture clients such as Third Rock Ventures, Agios Therapeutics, and Bluebird Bio.

## Recent projects

Six tiles. Each plays as a moving plate and turns over to this text.

### Tower Dresser

2026 · plywood · 30 x 14 x 73 in

A tall, narrow plywood dresser. Thirty inches wide, fourteen deep, six feet tall; shallow so the room stays walkable, tall to claw the storage capacity back. Five drawers graduate by three quarters of an inch as the structure goes up, four lift-out bins ride above the sightline, and a deep bin drawer anchors the base. No pulls, no slides, no hardware. Push-to-open fronts on waxed maple runners, cedar-lined bottoms, exposed edges. The one ornament is a thirty-degree chamfer at the mouth of the case, the latitude of New Orleans (an inspiration place for the design).

### Dormer Extension

2026 · about 1,000 sq ft · owner-built

Adding about 1,000 square feet of livable space to our home through a dormer across the back of the roof. Dark standing-seam steel cladding, a flat roof, and three paired casements set low enough to sit on the bed and view the 140-year-old sycamore aligned in the primary view. The shutters are vertically hinged steel panels (left bare for patina) that swing from flush storm cover to perpendicular fins, opening and closing on their own dynamic program for seasonal heat, cooling, and storm protection.

### Finley

2026 · founding creative director · https://tryfinley.ai

Finley is the AI CFO for middle-market operators. One system across several surfaces; an AI chat that reads the ledgers, systems, and books of the middle-market org and its multiple entities, dashboards that watch, reason, and project across cash, receivables, inventory and margin. Designed and engineered from the ground up to solve the everyday problems typical of running a middle-market company.

### tryfinley.ai

2026 · design and build · https://tryfinley.ai

The web presence for Finley, a Next and Vite site built as a funnel for every industry, with a WebGL particle system that is meant to metaphorically align with the cloud of data that typically surrounds the middle-market company. The site also features an interactive demo room, industry/vertical pages with animated product vignettes, a pricing page, insights with news, updates, and bylines, and a novel 404 page system.

### nCino Sans

2021 · typeface · four weights

Designed and distributed across nCino, a highly legible geometric grotesk that anchors the brand's typographic hierarchy. Four primary weights, Regular, Medium, Bold, and Heavy, with 2,198 glyphs in each, built for global consistency, localization, and legibility from disclaimers to headlines. Creative direction, 2020 to 2021.

### Elevator Bed

2026 · oak and carbon fiber · 3-ton winch

A full-size bed that rises to the ceiling when it isn't needed. Oak trim over an internal structure of carbon fiber studs, on 4 x 4 oak legs with heavy-duty hinges that fold flat under the deck and swing down as the bed lowers. A three-ton winch drives two-stage pulleys at all four corners, joined at the center in a bridle, so the platform travels level. Designed and overbuilt for daily use.

## Skateboarding

One paragraph over a minute of footage; the picture shows through the letters.

I've loved skateboarding for nearly 30 years. To push around on a skateboard at any skill level is to know and grapple with the pain and productivity of failure and iteration. Skateboarding has taught much about life and work in this regard. Rolling away from a hard-won battle on your skateboard is the culmination of hundreds, if not thousands of micro-adjustments, fine-tuned across iterations that can take anywhere from an hour to years. That is most of what I know about the work of design as well.

## Inspirations

Three plates over a sea of letters.

### Newberg Residence

Jim Cutler, Cutler Anderson Architects, Newberg, Oregon, 2013

Cutler found an old logging bog in the corner of a vineyard and set the house on the water like a bridge. The car park is 150 ft away and necessitates a walk through the forest, but the pond is only seen for the first time after the front door is opened and the viewer peers through the open floor-plan, through the massive windows, and out on the expanse of water and nature. A mind-blowing execution of place, restraint, compression and expansion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgribLSWhNE

### Gilda

Nora Vasconcellos, Thrasher, 2026

Nora V having an unreasonable amount of fun on a skateboard throughout Europe and the States, cut by David Serrano for Thrasher. https://youtu.be/_NC_qbOJFV4

### The Bride Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Even

Marcel Duchamp, Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1915 to 1923

Oil, varnish, lead foil, lead wire, and dust on two panes of glass, nine feet tall, worked on for eight years and then declared definitively unfinished. The bride hangs in the top pane, the nine bachelors wait below in their uniforms, and a chocolate grinder turns between them. On the return trip from its first exhibition the glass shattered in the shipping crate. Duchamp only then declared it finished. https://www.philamuseum.org/objects/54149

## Lines

A small side-scrolling skateboarding game drawn in lines, at https://chasegobble.com/skate: ollie the curbs, flip the sets, grind the rails of some real skate spots. It also runs on the 404 page and when the site goes offline.

## Commonplace

"The rose is without why; it blooms because it blooms."
Angelus Silesius, 1657
